Creative direction, storytelling, brand identity

Kirí Collective

Kirí Collective was a concept imagined between myself and Nigerian vegan chef and artist Salimatu Amabebe.

Kirí, meaning “earth”, from the Nembe language, calls for grounding, compassion, and creation. Imagined as an art collective, the concept of Kirí was an art collective for marginalized artists and creators to come together to share, practice, and engage in their art and healing.

  • Art direction, story-telling, copywriting, brand and visual identity, graphic design, website design.

What I did

  • Art directed the design the visual and brand identity for Kirí to center healing, freedom, and authentic energy for marginalized artists.

We collaborated with Fruit Salad Club (a Portland-based art studio that believes in feminist economic principles) to create the Kirí Collective logo based off our creative direction.

Below you will find the key elements of Kirí’s visual identity. The photography was captured by Lyudmila Zotova.
