That includes redesigning intake around how people actually describe their lives, making it clear why therapist is the right fit, and exploring how AI can surface personality and expertise without inventing certainty the system does not have.
IMPACT
The work has helped move Headway from a searchable directory toward a product that takes a real point of view on care. Redesigned onboarding experiences have increased booking, gotten more people the right care, and created the foundation for more personalized matching across concerns, identity, therapeutic style, and lived experience.
At Headway, I’m redesigning one of the most intimate search experiences there is: finding a therapist. I lead product design across patient onboarding and matching, shaping how people tell us what they need, and how we help them find someone who actually gets them, and can help.
THE CHALLENGE
Most mental health platforms treat finding care like filtering for a hotel room. Pick a specialty. Choose a time. Scan a wall of nearly identical profiles. But people are making this decision while anxious, exhausted, uncertain, or already in pain. They're trying to understand who feels safe, who has the right expertise, and whether they can imagine telling this person the truth. The existing system gave them information, then left them alone to interpret it.
WHAT I DO
I’m helping rebuild that experience from the inside out. I work across design, research, product, engineering, clinical, data, and machine learning to turn the complexity of human need into a matching system that feels more responsive and less clinical.
